It's back-to-school time, and you know what that means. Your immune system is about to be put to the test. There's nothing like being exposed to the germs of hundreds of kids via your child the second they step off the school bus. As a parent, you've known this for as long as you've had kids. But that doesn't stop the flu season from barreling down the pipe. Back to school also means helping them with their homework. Fifth-grade science homework might sound easy to somebody with a bachelor's degree, but you would be mistaken.

I don't know what they're teaching these kids nowadays, but I need to brush up before I can help anyone else. It also means getting your kids adjusted to a different sleep schedule. They're rioting against their early bedtimes and remembering how much more relaxed things were in the summer. They wake up every day thinking, "This again?" And you can't blame them because you feel that way too. The school year comes at you fast, and it comes at you hard.
